Jimmy Choo at H&M

So, some people have been looking forward to this all summer and it’s about to be unleashed on selected H&M stores worldwide. Jimmy Choo for H&M is set to launch on November 14th, but already had its launch party in Hollywood earlier on this week.

Under attendance were, among others, MIA, Paris and Nicky Hilton, Rupaul and Jimmy Choo designer, Tamara Mellon. The party was held at a private mansion in West Hollywood and most guests wore some of the highly sought-after pieces already. In the photo above of MIA you can see what is set to be the most expensive and desirable item of the collection: Over the knee leather boots at US$299.

Customers should note, that the collection consists both of Menswear and Womenswear, including bags and shoes. The clothing range will be accessible to everyone on launch day, while the shoe and handbag section will be open only to the first 160 people that queued and were given a wristband. Every customer is only entitled to buy one size and one piece per item within the accessories range, which means, that the items are less likely to go on eBay.

You better start queuing soon…!

Victoria Beckham Autumn/Winter 2009 [Advert]

Check out Victoria Beckham’s latest advert for her personal fashion label.
Now, there’s good adverts and there’s bad adverts. This one is neither. It’s so very blah it’s unbelievable.

I have always been terribly bored by the detached houses of West London and the swings and bad singing in the background doesn’t add anything to my experience. The only fact I enjoy about this advert is Posh taking a swing herself in the end.

This is a classic case of different to be different. Art for Art’s sake. Booooring!

Update: The bus stop is fake too. No wonder that bus just passed without stopping!

M&S goes Sex and the City

Thursday, May 22nd, 2008

Highstreet retail store Marks & Spencers are set to launch a line inspired by Carrie Bradshaw’s outfits later on this year.
Partricia Field, SATC’s main stylist, will design a very limited collection including dresses, skirts and accessories.
Do you think this is a match made in heaven or is M&S just trying to jump on the bandwagon?

Fergie challenges Madonna

Fergie Shoes

As a fashion brand it has become trendy to collaborate with someone famous ever since H&M had a line with houte couture designer Karl Lagerfeld.

Where most brands get it wrong though, is that they employ any silly old famous face to design for them, while H&M sticks to the designers (well, apart from that Madonna disaster). Having said that, it’s another issue whether or not the designers H&M claims to get, are involved in anything more than the contract that signs away the right for H&M to use their name on the clothes. (H&Ms collaboration with COMME DES GARÇONS is gonna hit stores this autumn)

Most recent suspect of the crime to fashion: Fergie. Associated Newspaper report, that she is in talks with American shoe retailer Brown Shoe to design her own collection. Does Fergie have any experience apart from the one she has as a consumer? But then we all have the same experience, yet, I don’t see myself designing shoes any time soon….

The line is to hit stores in early 2009

Posh on GMTV

Wednesday, May 14th, 2008

This morning Victoria Beckham, infamous for her pout, oversized sunglasses and marriage to footballer David Beckham was in London to talk to the people from GMTV about further career moves and rumors that are out there.

Have a look at this.

How great is she when she doesn’t seem rehearsed? I do believe her when she says that her face falls like this when she poses for pictures (don’t we all do it?! – lol) And also praise the lord for her saying that she officially gave up on singing.

Shame about the movie, and I also would have loved to see Victoria as a PCD. SHAME SHAME SHAME. And about the pregnancy – what’s spectecular about that in the first place, she popped out about eight already.

I’m not too gay for a rucksack

Sunday, May 11th, 2008

RucksackDitch your manbags and get out those rucksacks. It’s just too annoying having to carry something in your hand, if you might as well carry it on your back without noticing it, because you think you might compromise your style. Be brave – use your backpack.

The one on the right is a Timberland and sold for £55.00 at BagsDirect. Check it out!

Hm… I thought Marc Jacobs can do no wrong!

Wednesday, April 16th, 2008

I can’t believe I’d ever say anything negative about Marc Jacobs, but here it is people the first condoms “designed” by Marc Jacobs (available only in Marc by Marc Jacobs Stores)

Marc Jacobs condoms

Okay, so even though people, especially gay people, in the noughties should really know better than to have unprotected sex, Marc Jacobs thinks it’s a good idea to sell condoms in his Marc by Marc Jacobs Stores.

Well, isn’t that charitable?! Well, no! While Durex sells a pack of 12 for $4.99 (I’ll do the maths for you – that’s just about 40 cents per condom) the “designer” version sets you back more than triple that. Honey, if you want to do something for society, give them away for free.

Protected sex is NOT a privilege.
