It turns out that Sony Pictures Michael Jackson documentary This is It was produced using old recordings from way before the tour rehearsals from the London residency shows took place.

Former BBC senior study manager Andrew Rose claims that some footage has been dubbed with old demos that are readily available on sites such as YouTube.

Jim Kennedy of Sony Pictures confirms:

“In order to fulfill Michael’s vision for his fans and his children… the filmmakers had to incorporate some pre-existing materials, including vocals, where the rehearsal footage audio was incomplete and/or inaudible. In addition, usage of master recordings (such as Earth Song) was credited in the end titles.”

Shocking considering everybody was amazed by Michael Jackson’s vocals so close to his death. Another clue that the people behind This is It wanted to distance themselves from any allegations that they were somehow responsible for Michael’s untimely death.

Dodgy!

Ok, Ok, I know this is starting to look like a Lady Gaga / Beyoncé Fanpage, but I guess there’s not much else going on than Lady Gaga at the moment. So be patient here.

Lady Gaga’s re-release of her album The Fame, will be hitting the shelves on 23rd November 2009. It will include Bad Romance, Telephone featuring Beyoncé and other new material. The Special Edition of The Fame Monster will include a lock of Lady Gaga’s hair. Weird.

Let’s just hope it doesn’t sell as well as The Fame, otherwise Lady Gaga will be sporting a bit of a bald look in the future.

OMG, I love the photos above that have been taken at this year’s MTV European Music Awards.

Celebrities actually talk over a glass of champagne. Amazing.

Do these photos mean that Shakira and Beyoncé actually like each other and will collaborate again in the future?!

Rihanna has finally opened up about what she experienced months ago in a personal interview with ABC last week and aired in parts this morning on ABC’s Good Morning America.

The complete interview will be aired tonight on American TV and is rumoured to cover previously unreported details of the surroundings of the incident several month ago.

Perez Hilton reports (link) that in tonight’s full interview she will go on in stating:

“I fended him off with my feet from one … side of the car, but … it was not like, it was not like a fight with each other. I just … I really just wanted it to stop…I was bleeding. I was swollen in my face. So there was no way of me getting home, except for, my next option was to get out of the car and walk. Start walking in a gown, in a bloody face. So I really don’t know what my plan was. I didn’t have a plan. That whole night was not part of my plan.”

“I caught him in a lie. And he wouldn’t tell the truth … I was being more annoyed at that point in our relationship he had to lie about something so stupid, I couldn’t take that he kept lying to me. And he couldn’t take that I wouldn’t drop it. And … it was ugly.”

“I just said to him, ‘I can’t do this.’ I resented him. I resented him so much. And I always put the tough face on and try to, I can do anything face, and just try to play it off. But he knew. He knew it. He kept asking me, ‘You hate me, don’t you? You hate me,’” she told Sawyer. “And I would lie and I would say, ‘No, no. And … I did hate him. … Everything about him annoyed me. So finally … I just said, we can’t … we can’t do this. I cannot continue to do this.”

“The thing that men don’t realize, when they hit a woman, it’s… the face, the broken arm, the black eye, it’s going to heal. That’s not … the problem. It’s the scar inside. You flashback. You … you remember it all the time. It comes back to you whether you like it or not. And it’s painful. So I don’t think he understood that. They never do.”

So, some people have been looking forward to this all summer and it’s about to be unleashed on selected H&M stores worldwide. Jimmy Choo for H&M is set to launch on November 14th, but already had its launch party in Hollywood earlier on this week.

Under attendance were, among others, MIA, Paris and Nicky Hilton, Rupaul and Jimmy Choo designer, Tamara Mellon. The party was held at a private mansion in West Hollywood and most guests wore some of the highly sought-after pieces already. In the photo above of MIA you can see what is set to be the most expensive and desirable item of the collection: Over the knee leather boots at US$299.

Customers should note, that the collection consists both of Menswear and Womenswear, including bags and shoes. The clothing range will be accessible to everyone on launch day, while the shoe and handbag section will be open only to the first 160 people that queued and were given a wristband. Every customer is only entitled to buy one size and one piece per item within the accessories range, which means, that the items are less likely to go on eBay.

Britney is about to start the last leg of her ‘The Circus Starring Britney Spears’ Tour, which kicks off in Perth on the 6th of November.

The No Angels (and no, this is not the TV show that came way after the formation of this band) are already a household name in their native Germany and surrounding countries, but have -so far- only made headlines (if at all) in the UK for all the wrong reasons. For example with their very unsuccessful attempt to bring home Eurovision glory with their song Disappear in 2008 or with allegations made against band member Nadja that she knowingly infected several men with the HIV virus earlier this year.

Despite all this, the No Angels are back with a new album that was released in Germany roughly a month ago. Giving it a good listen for the last weeks, I decided, while it’s not the best pop record of 2009, it certainly could be music that some of you might enjoy and should be featured.

Could O2 end the only short pleasure that was TVC?!

Macworld America reports, that the EyeTV app was pulled from the App Store earlier this week, because they left some code in the app that would allow users to stream live TV via 3G. AT&T & Apple (though I would think it’s more AT&T’s issue) do not permit streaming via 3G and limit it to Wifi service only. As a result Elgato Systems, the developers behind EyeTV have pulled the app and made streaming via 3G impossible in the new release.

Now people fear that O2 will have similar issues with the recently launced TVCatchup service, which runs as a WebApp service via iphone.tvcatchup.com and runs on the 3G data network.

An O2 spokesperson commented to this issue via TechRadar saying:

“O2 offers several phones, such as the Apple iPhone and Palm Pre, that can be used to stream live TV, and we encourage customers to use this when connected to Wi-Fi either in their home or out and about,”

“When customers are connected to 3G we do not block services like mobile TV, however we reserve the right to prevent access to services that affect other users’ service.”

“This includes products that continually stream audio and/or video.”

TVCatchup commented to this on their own forum:

“It could get interesting, but it’s their loss if they block us. Even more so if the new providers allow us, but I am not sure of that yet. There are already thousands of people who are happy & using our iPhone service so to take it away from them – they would not be happy.”

“No way am I saying they’d switch to any of the new providers entering the iPhone market just for us, but I’d bet that a good few would. Tough decision.”

“It’s a shame because this is what people want. They want new exciting tech like this but there’s always something the UK is behind on to let it down.”

TVCatchup is currently still available to stream via the 3G data network. It will be interesting to see whether the looming fear of competition will stop O2 from banning this service.

TVCatchup for iPhone/iPod touch

TVCatchup have announced, that their service currently only accessible through home computers is now available for the iPhone and the iPod touch.

TVC let’s you view Live TV coverage of currently over 30 channels including BBC1, ITV and Channel4. The web version requires you to register to be able to watch content for free and runs smoothly on both Macs and PCs.

From now on, iPhone and iPod touch users can access the service via http://iphone.tvcatchup.com. While it currently only offers a limited number of channels, you’ll be able to watch live TV on the go even through your 3G data plan.

Channels available as of today are: BBC1, BBC2, ITV1, Channel4, Channel5, ITV2, BBC3, Film4, E4, More4 and E4Music.

Exciting, exciting. There’s more and more reasons to get the iPhone.

Rumour has it that Spotify has been approved by Apply to be released in the iTunes App Store for iPhones.

If this is true it’s going to change the way we listen (and more importantly purchase) music.

With Spotify on the iPhone you’ll be able to select songs for offline playback. mp3 retailers will now be forced to step up their game.

While Spotify for the iPhone will be only available to Premium members (currently £9.99 per month), this still is incredibly good value for those of us who struggle to keep it legal.

The only set-backs are: Not all music is licensed for Spotify, that’s ok as long as you are a mainstream music lover, but the second it get’s too niche, you’re less likely to find what you are looking for.

Is the £9.99 price tag something you’re willing to pay to have unlimited music on-the-go at your fingertips?

Now, there’s good adverts and there’s bad adverts. This one is neither. It’s so very blah it’s unbelievable.

I have always been terribly bored by the detached houses of West London and the swings and bad singing in the background doesn’t add anything to my experience. The only fact I enjoy about this advert is Posh taking a swing herself in the end.

This is a classic case of different to be different. Art for Art’s sake. Booooring!

Update: The bus stop is fake too. No wonder that bus just passed without stopping!

TLC, the top-selling female girl group are scheduled to perform alongside other top artist when they take to the stage in Vegas on 17th October 2009.

They are part of the lineup for Justin Timberlake’s chartiy concert at the Las Vegas’s Mandalay Bay Events Center.

Earlier this year TLC performed a concert in Japan and T-Boz confirmed in a radio interview that a new TLC project is in the works.

That leaves me with some requests:

1. Please don’t postpone this project like you did with your solo projects
2. Be better prepared for this gig than the BET Honors Girl Groups performance in 2008
3. COME FOR A GIG IN EUROPE!!!

Look at the advert all the way at the top, which was found on several Microsoft Websites throughout the world. Microsoft Poland however decided to replace the man of African decent ’s head with that of a Caucasian one (lower picture).

Microsoft has since apologised for this and the original Photo is back online.
I can’t believe a company would do such a thing in the 21st century. There was obviously a reason for the man to be there in the first place, for exactly the opposite reason. See the little “It’s a small world” set-up of an Asian man, a black man and a white woman?

PS: Have you also noticed, that the man in the middle is using a Macbook with a covered up Apple logo? Microsoft should really consider buying less stock-photography and start hiring their own photographers.

Things like this really don’t make me like stuffy Microsoft any more than I already don’t.

Watch out Apple Fanatics. Guess what is coming to you a day early (if the Royal Mail plays it right)?

That’s right, as of 1.45 tonight a copy of Apple’s new Operating System is on its way to me.

While most new features of Snow Leopard are implemented “under the hood”, early adopters of Apple’s can get the benefit of visual improvements to iChat (higher resolution theatre), social-networking integration into Quicktime and rumoured security features via Safari.

On the contrary can Adobe Creative Suite 3 Users not hope for any support from the American software developer, since they didn’t test older versions of their popular design software for Snow Leopard. Tough considering you could still purchase CS3 just over one-and-a-half years ago – and it didn’t come cheap then either. Let’s just hope that despite the non-support from Adobe, CS3 runs on Snow Leopard just like a dream.

It’s just about that time of year again when all the good shows resume for a new season in America (and I always wonder how I survived my school-free summer without the light entertainment of American shows like Desperate Housewives etc)

Desperate Housewives has a history of great Promos and Teaser, including two produced by no other than David LaChappelle (see after the click). Sadly this year, it seems they went down a little tackier route. Gladiators? Amazons?

O’So Krispie, the girl that won the US reality TV show “R U the girl“, featuring on TLC’s song “I bet“, has just released her first official single on iTunes: Slumber Party

Her album will come out in Autumn of 2008. Do you find it in bad taste that MassAppeal Entertainment is set to launch a posthumous album of Left Eye, the ‘L’ in TLC, who died in a tragic accident in 2002, at the same time? O’So Krispie is the very girl that replaced Left Eye on the show and was concidered too similar to the initial line-up of TLC. Should O’So Krispie delay her album launch in respect of Left Eye’s, whose album proceeds are rumoured to go towards her charity “The Lisa Lopes Foundation“?

Viktor and Rolf are a pair of fashion designers from The Netherlands. They’ve just opened their first exhibit in London, which shows off original catwalk fashions, all their major catwalk shows and any other memorabilia to do with their brand.

What I think is most astonishing about the exhibition, called “The House of Viktor & Rolf”, is, that art lovers will get their bit as much as fashion fanatics. The whole layout is breathtaking and it’s definately worth the £8 The Barbican charges at the door.
